The Monsters

The main attraction is of course the monsters. If not, why are we even playing the event?

Pros
Energy Circle Bump: Bootstrap Jack's Energy Circle is a good damage source from farmables. You don't have to worry much about positioning and it can hit multiple targets.

Dragon Slayer M: There are a number of Dragon bosses in the game. He deals x2 more damage to those monsters.

Cons
Only Null Block: Bootstrap's only Null ability is Null Block. It is one of the least favorite Null ability and there are so little dungeons where it can be useful.

Long SS CD: His SS is 20 Turns long for a Bash+Laser SS, which is probably one of the longest of its kind. Even so, the amount of damage it does is on par with 16 Turn or lower ones. It only deals a lot of damage if it is towards to Dragon monsters.

Dungeons
Like stated above, there are a lot of Dragon bosses. You can use him in Dark Wyrm and Typhon. They do have some hazards you want to Null but they are relatively easy dungeons and his Bump Combos can make up for it.

Nirai Kanai is also a Dragon monster. Although you want Pierce monsters in the dungeon, his Bump Combo can deal damage to the weakpoints. Also he can help take down the Aqua Wyrms who has the high damage Volatile Blast. He can be a potential pick for one of the hardest dungeons in the game.

Lately, there have been a lot of dungeons that prioritize Blocks. In JP, there are Pine, Koalas, Scylla, and Lady Rokujo. Also Tsukuyomi Zero, an Impossible dungeon, prioritizes Blocks in her dungeon. It will take a while for those dungeons to come though. Finally, Bootstrap is a good monster for Herald of Death since that dungeon is only Blocks and his Bump Combo can bypass the Laser Barriers.

Overall Conclusion
Bootstrap Jack is a monster for beginners as a stepping stone towards Herald of Death. If you don't have a max luck monster to farm Herald, I suggest gather candy through the Candy Store and make a max luck Bootstrap Jack. He might get some use later on with the current JP meta focusing on Blocks and Laser Barriers.

Pros
Double Nulls: Chainbound Jack is a Flight and Null Gravity Barrier. He has a lot of viability in dungeons.

Hit Style and SS Synergy: Chainbound Jack is a Pierce monster. He also have a Meteor SS. It is easier for Pierce monsters to hit enemies with his SS since you can't miss.

Cons
Low HP: Chainbound has only 17k HP. You will need other monsters to increase your HP pool to make your runs more safer. It is not recommended to bring over 2 Chainbounds or else you can have sub 80k HP.

Dungeons
With his double Null abilities, he can be taking to a wide variety of dungeons. Deathscoil, Satellite, Gigamantis, and Princess Takiyasha are just only a handful of the dungeons.

He also have a lot of Impossible viability. He is best useful in Tsukuyomi, Acala, and Izanami Zero. You can bring him to Daikoku, Marici, and future dungeons like Yamato Takeru Zero, Tsukuyomi Zero and Yomi.

Overall Conclusion
For JP players, Chainbound Jack is basically the Light Doraemon who is the highest rated farmable in the JP version. The only demerit he has is his HP but all his other traits are top notch. Bump Combo does damage, SS can deal damage or mob clear and he has two of the big four Null abilities.

Pros
Recovery S: Rippin' Reaper Jack can heal up to 14% of your team's max HP. Unlike monsters with the same gauge ability (Oruga), his gauge speed is at the same rate as a normal gauge shot. Therefore it is easy to use.

Useful SS: Reaper Jack's SS is called an All Null SS. He won't be affected by damage walls, gravity barriers, mines and warps for that shot. It also increases his speed and strength so it can also deal a lot of damage to a Boss if you swipe horizontally or vertically.

Cons
Mediocre Bump: Reaper Jack's Bump Combo is Horizon Laser. You will have to position beside a Boss for it to hit them. Also it doesn't do a lot of damage and Laser Barriers will make them useless.

Low SPD: Although Reaper Jack is a Pierce monster which makes his Recovery S very useful, his SPD makes it harder to hit all 3 allies.

Dungeons
You will want to bring Reaper Jack to Warp dungeons over some of the current Null Warp ML just because his Recovery S makes it safer. He works very well in Ghoulie, Vanilla, and Tokugawa Yoshinobu.

In terms of Impossibles, his main use will be in Izanagi and the future Izanagi Zero. It makes runs a lot safer, especially when Izanagi Zero is a No Heart dungeon.

Finally, he is one of the few max luck monsters for Eden, even in JP. You want Dark, Pierce and Null Warp monsters and Reaper Jack fits the bill perfectly. It is also a No Heart dungeon so his Recovery S will come in handy.

Overall Conclusions
Rippin' Reaper Jack is a very powerful Null Warp monster. Although his Bump Combo is not very strong, the slow speed of his Recovery S gauge makes it all worth it.

A Call Unto Darkness

In general, the dungeon is all about stacking Slayers to deal with the Boss and the mobs. It is a relatively easy dungeon where you can farm at a fast pace for candy.

The Strategy
The main strategy is to defeat the enemies that summons other mobs. In stages where there are no Mini-Boss or Boss, it will be the gasmask mobs with the rifles. In the other stages, it will be the Mini-Boss or the Boss herself.

The Monsters
Spica and Agnamut are the best Hatcher monster for the dungeon. Spica's Demon Slayer XL can deal a lot of damage to the Boss and mobs. Also her SS can instantly wipe a HP bar from Herald as well as Heal your HP. Agnamut is good for her Meteor since it procs other Demon Slayer M. The Meteor itself can deal over 2 million damage onto Herald.

You might want Item Growth SS from Asc Micha and Evo Izumo for people who want to stall for candy. They will upgrade every candy on the map by one grade. If there are no items, there is a chance a candy can spawn.

The best farmables are Daikoku and Babel. Daikoku is good for mob clearing whereas Babel is good for Boss damage. The most popular ML monster will be Lucas, Mist and Issun.

Stalling for Candy
A lot of people will wonder if they should stall for candy or not. I average about 150 candy per 2h session of Herald without stalling to grow the candy. I get about 10-15 candy per run of Herald. It really depends if you want to be time efficient (not stalling) or stamina efficient (stalling).

Time efficient is clearing the dungeon as fast as you can. Solo teams can go as fast as 6 minutes whereas Co-Op will be about 8 minutes, depending on the team. This is for the players who want to ML Herald more than once to increase their ML count in case ML bonuses come. Stamina efficient is to maximize the amount of candy per run. In the end you will get one or two ML Herald but your clear time will significantly decrease to 15+ minutes per run. Decide on which route you want. Being time efficient will need more orbs to fill stamina.

Night at the Candy Store

This dungeon is mainly for collecting candy. If you are done max lucking Herald of Death, you can convert to here for candy farming. However, it only comes 1 hour per day.

The Strategy
Once the Hotchow is defeated, they will drop candy for you to collect. There will be a scorpion that will escape in 2 turns. You want to stall the candy that the Hotchow leaves behind. Therefore, take down the Hotchow until there is one left standing. Next is stall the candy until they are at the highest grade. For the Boss Stage, you can take down all 3 but make sure you don't clear the Expie. The Expie has very little HP and one hit from any monster can clear it

The Monsters
The biggest problem is that all the mobs have very low HP. You don't want to clear all the Hotchow or the Expie accidentally. Therefore, take Blast Bump (not Volatile Blast) monsters. Their damage is low and it doesn't have a big range in damage. Monsters like Surtr, Ghoulie, and Fox Metal are some examples of max luck monsters with Blast bump.

However, if you stack your team with too many 6* monsters, you will accidentally clear the mobs with normal hits. That's why you bring Expies, Morlings and the like. They are super slow and their ATK stat is so small that they can't defeat the Hotchow or the Expie.

Clearing Missions for Stingy Jack and Materials

Here is the list of rewards you can get from completing all the Mission Logs:
- 227 Stingy Jack
- 20 Green Cackling Pumpkin
- 10 Light Cackling Pumpkin
- 25 Box Space
- 1 Mormite King
- 1 Divine Sharl
- 11 Orbs
- 1 Limited Edition Title (Sweet Tooth Striker)
- 1 Dragon Gem of each Element (Red/Blue/Green/Light/Dark)

A big motivator for people is how many candy does it need to finish an ascension or max luck. Here are the breakpoints. The calculation does not count for daily Login bonuses and the "Max Level Bootstrap Jack" mission:

- Bootstrap Jack (if you choose this form first): 160 Candy
- First ML Stingy Jack Form (99 copies): 450 Candy
- Chainbound Jack (if you choose this form first): 560 Candy
- Second Jack Form (doesn't matter which you start first): 785 Candy
- Second ML Stingy Jack Form (99 copies): 950 Candy

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Max Luck Affect the Candy?
Candy has a fixed percentage chance of spawning on the stage (I don't know the exact percentage). Max Luck will not be able to change that number. However, they can change the type of Candy spawning, whether it being 1, 2 or 3 Candy.

How Much Time Should I Invest in the Event?
If you want to complete all the Mission Logs from the event, you will want to invest 2 hours per day in the Halloween Events. Be sure to average about 150 Candy per day and you will make it past 2000 Candy by the end of the event. If you can play the Candy Store dungeon, you will be able to get over 150 candy within the hour.

  2. Basically the regular 5 star and 4 star pool of monster, even then I don't recommend bothering with this hatcher unless if your just starting in the game and need new recruits

Or can you only get Chainbound Jack by asc Stingy Jack?
