[JP] Genpei War Event Monster Stats! (Updated: 6/13)

Starting June 3rd (JST), there will be a new event batch! This time the theme is about the Genpei War. This batch will be like the Three Musketeers in that the hatcher monsters will be separated to different hatchers instead of having one for themselves. Therefore, I will be update this post once the other monsters come.

Time to get to the monsters!

Shizuka Gozen (Fire 5* - Hatcher)

Thoughts
To be honest, both versions are really really good. Evolve form is one of the first fire monsters to have NW and NDW (ascend Athos has that ability set but everyone chooses evolve). This means she is viable for Izanagi. She will be really good in that dungeon because most people lose due to hearts not appearing and her SS can help your team survive. Evolve is not bad for Kushinada and Marishiten as well. 

For the Ascend form, she is more geared to help your other monsters to target the boss. There are a lot of Demon and Demon Mencer mobs in the game and the Demonsbane procs with her bump so she can mob clear really effectively. Her sub bump combo can deal with scorpions as well. Finally her SS can destroy drones that maybe around the boss. She is a pierce so it is very easy to clear them in one swoop. She is better at Marishiten than the Evolve form but she becomes not usable for Izanagi and Kushinada.  

Kurama Tengu (Water 4* - Hatcher)

Thoughts
A Mine Sweeper version of Dear Lotta and Chandra. She is really good for Fire Shrine in the Temple of Heroes.

Thoughts
I will recommend the ascend version for this monster. She is a blast monster with really high stats (only SPD is below average). She is not a bad monster for Izanami. If you just started JP and want to get going, she is just as good as Queen Butterflight in the max luck slot. Although you can't easily pinch the last bar, she provides better mob clear in the zombie stages, especially with her SS and powered up bump. She also takes less damage from that dungeon.

Thoughts
Evolve for this one. He might be a crucial monster for the next Dark Impossible (just speculation by the way). He has a 16 turn Command SS. However, he doesn't get a speed boost like Ryoma and Napoleon has. Therefore this is mainly for clearing mobs instead of dealing giant damage to the boss. Also, his speed is not that high for the SS and he is a bounce monster. He can be used for Ashura, Bishamonten, and Marishiten but not very good at it.

Kiso Yoshinaka (Fire 4* - Savage)

Thoughts
A very very strong monster for Marishiten. For a 4-5* monster, it is really something. His Deity Slayer M procs the Cross Laser M. The power will be around the same as a Cross Laser L, just a smaller hit area. His SS is short and with his high power, it can deal at least 1 million to Marishiten. Finally his low speed make sure he doesn't step into all the mines in the dungeon.

Thoughts
A niche 4* monster who is really good for Geppetto (extreme monster). Geppetto is a really nice monster and his evolve form can help you net the likes of Yoshinobu, Louis the 13, Vanilla, and Ghost.

Taira Atsumori (Dark 4* - Savage)

Thoughts
Although she is not really good for a specific dungeon like her counterparts, she is ok for a variety of dungeons. She is relatively good for Kabushido and Solwing (X version too) which are good NGB monsters. She is good for Gigamantis too which can lead you to Bishamonten. Finally, she can clear the mine and rebounding laser mobs effectively.

Thoughts
Just like Shizuka Gozen, he can be good both ways. However, the evolve version is more geared for beginners and ascend version is for the more veteran players. Just having a NGB and being able to make him a viable team member without ascension is really good for beginners where they can really only rely on divine sharls to start up their box. Although the evolve version cannot really tackle Impossible dungeons (I guess Yamato but he is a filler more than anything), it is good for getting the likes of QB and Tiger to propel them to Izanami.

For the ascend version, he is basically a Top 3 pick for the new Light Impossible dungeon, Daikokuten. Deals with both the main gimmicks, mines and warps, and has a very strong SS. Also, his HP is very high which is crucial since the dungeon has No Hearts (there are healing walls but not up 100% of the time). Also a lot of the other top tier picks for that dungeon, Marishiten, Loreley, Kushinada, has low HP so he can increase the overall team HP. Out of the 6 monsters that have the wall bouncing SS (Chiyo, Saigo, HK, Zhang Fei, Osiris, Benkei), this guy has the most rounded stats. He has higher speed than Chiyo, Saigo and Osiris, higher HP and ATK than Zhang Fei, and higher everything than HK. Of course those monsters have other aspects that make them different or better than Benkei but since the SS is situational, he can deal more consistent damage on average. 

For beginners, just evolve him and then once you get a solid box going for you or when you want to face Daikokuten, ascend him!

Thoughts
Really hard to decide on which is technically better so I guess I will run each form separately and let you decide on what you want.

Evolve is your honorary slayer for Daikokuten. Although he is not 100% perfect for the dungeon, he is a top tier pick for that dungeon. Mines might hinder some players but as long as you have a mine sweeper or two, it shouldn't be that much of a problem. Mines are easily avoidable, especially since he is a Null Warp. His bump combo procs his Paladin Slayer so it will deal x1.5 damage onto Daikokuten. He has a high ATK (for a balance monster) for his AOE blast. On top of the Slayer and attribute strength, it can help you take most of one bar out. On the same note, he is a perfect monster for Louis the 13th. She is a Paladin too and her dungeon is mainly warps. 

As for the ascend version, he might not be a top pick for any Impossibles, but his Light Slayer and NDW combo is viable for a lot of Extremes. You can make an argument for Izanagi but I like NW over NDW in that dungeon (I said top pick, not a viable pick btw). As for Extremes, he is good for people that want to hoard or have a carry pick when max lucking the following monsters: Fenrir, Jack, Ghost, and Cavaletta. All four are very good monsters to max luck or just to have around. He is basically like Chiyo or Belphegor, an attribute slayer with a lot of Extreme potential but not much Impossible potential. 

Fujiwara Hidehira (Light 4* - Hatcher)

Thoughts
Well the only Extreme dungeon that makes his full kit useful is Vanilla. There are some other Dark monsters that have an insane amount of warps like Bull King and Ghepptto. Not a bad monster if you are looking for a blast slot on your team for those dungeons but for most veterans, he is probably replaceable for other monsters in their boxes.
