[NA] SFGundam's Tower of Champions Preparation

Tower of Champions is coming to NA in June! It is a new challenge that is full of hard dungeons but with great rewards.

Check the Official Site for the format, requirements, and rewards!

This blog is going to be a compact guide and includes my teams when I climb the Tower!

Floors 1 - 15

Floors 1 through 15 are from Easy to Savage in terms of difficulty. As long as you have a full team of 6* monsters, you will be able to get through them without any problems. If you don't, then make sure you deal with the hazards listed below, especially after Floor 11.

Another great thing about these floors is that the Mini-Boss and Boss will drop. They are all 4* ascension materials.

1F: Enter Royce
Hazards: None
Drops: Ursacles / Pachydoom / Pavotrus

2F: Immortal Madness
Hazards: Gravity Barriers
Drops: Mars / Nue / Scylla / Murdigris

3F: Divine Awakening
Hazards: Damage Walls
Drops: Aqua Wyrm / Thundergriff / Dyrad

4F: Fantasia Fest
Hazards: Warps
Drops: Urashima / Tanuki / Kaguya

5F: Samurai Resistance
Hazards: Mines
Drops: Saito Hajime / Kondo Isami / Hijikata Toshizo

6F: Fab Five
Hazards: Conveyors
Drops: Freekfrogg / Crabotron / Dr. Sorge

7F: Ragnarok
Hazards: Revivers
Drops: Hel / Jormungandr / Hraesvelgr

8F: Devilish Foes
Hazards: Wind
Drops: Mephisto / Samuel / Belial

9F: Sun's Requiem
Hazards: Pierce Obstructors / Warps
Drops: Set / Amen / Hathor

10F: Ninpo Nindo
Hazards: Bounce Obstructors
Drops: Tsunage / Inugami / Izuna

11F: Vedas
Hazards: Gravity Barriers
Drops: Agni / Garuda / Karma

12F: Dust of Olympus
Hazards: Warps / Damage Walls
Drops: Frozyth / Nephrilos / Shadowdrake

13F: A Final Song
Hazards: Mines
Drops: Rodin / Donatello / Raphael

14F: Transcendence
Hazards: Damage Walls
Drops: Lazanicoff / Dr. Ginger / Gluttony

15F: Sengoku
Hazards: Scorpions
Drops: Gashadokuro / Kasha / Kappa

Floors 16 - 20

This set of Floors are at Extreme level. You will have to bring monsters that deal with the hazards and have a full team of 6* for a smooth clear. The Boss monsters will not drop from here on out.

16F: Hungry Flame
Hazards: Damage Walls / Gravity Barriers / Drones / Shields / Blocks
Boss: Fire Wyrm (Deity Slayer L)
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-16f-hungry-flame

A fairly easy dungeon as long as you don't bring Deity monsters like Verdandi and Athena. Focus on NDW monsters and stay away from Fire Wyrm's Volatile Blast.

17F: Raging Waves
Hazards: Gravity Barriers / Ability Locks / Movement
Boss: Aqua Wyrm
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-17f-raging-waves

There are a lot of viable monsters for this dungeon. Bring Wood NGB monsters, preferably. Main strategy is to mob clear before attacking the Boss.

18F: Poisonous Wyrm
Hazards: Mines / Revivers / Poison / Obstructors
Boss: Basilisk
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-18f-poisonous-wyrm

This is a Tsukuyomi-style stage. Although you will need Slayers to one shot most of the mobs, it is not really needed. Bring Fire monsters that can move around very fast the map and have one or two Mine Sweepers.

19F: Golden Serpent
Hazards: Warps / Revivers / Ability Locks / Poison
Boss: Typhon (Fiend Slayer)
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-19f-golden-serpent

This is a kill or be killed stage. The longer you stay in each stage, the worst off you are. Bring Dark monsters to deal as much damage as you can. You don't have to worry much about Warps if you clear the mob that shoots them out.

20F: Plague Scales
Hazards: Gravity Barriers / Damage Walls / ATK Down
Boss: Dark Wyrm (Fiend Slayer L)
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-20f-plague-scales

Bringing NGB monsters that have powerful bump combos is important for this stage. Both the mobs and the Boss deal high amounts of damage. Take down the mobs first and then the Boss. Make sure you don't bring Fiend monsters like Bishamonten and Romeo.

Floors 21 - 25

21F and above are at Impossible level. This means they are all no-continue. This is where the game tests your skills and monsters! Floors 21 through 25 is a stress test of your Monster Box. Here I will show you my teams!

21F: Showdown
Hazards: No Hearts / Damage Walls / Gravity Barriers / Recovery / Shields
Boss: Wyatt Earp (Demihume Slayer)
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-21f-showdown

Take this quest as a rite of entry to the higher Floors. People tend to struggle early on but once they find a team that works, it is really easy. The main problem is the No Hearts in the dungeon so you have to bring Recovery monsters. Having 2 Recovery monsters will make it a smooth run. The other two will be your damage sources.

SF's Team: Athena (Evo) / Verdandi (Asc) / Yamato Takeru (Evo)
Friend: Anubis (Asc) / Sakura (Asc)

I wouldn't say this is the most stable team but you can get by with only 1 Recovery monster from your Friendlist. Verdandi is the old one out in my Box. I would rather have either a Recovery monster, Uesugi Kenshin or Guan Yu on the team.

22F: Freeze or Die
Hazards: Gravity Barrier / Drones / Healing Walls
Boss: Bahamut X
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-22f-freeze-or-die

Like the name says, you have to stay still or you will die. Bahamut X deals a powerful 66,000 homing after 1 turn. If he becomes angry, it will ramp up to about 100,000 damage, and that is with ALL Wood monsters. You will have to not deal any damage to him on your first turn and heal up in preceding turns with Healing Walls. Having one Recovery monster makes it easier.

SF's Team: Ibaraki Doji (Asc) / Hunter King (Asc) / Merlin (Asc)
Friend: Any Wood NGB monster

Very stable team. As long as you don't deal damage on the first turn, you will be able to make it out with no problems. Just make sure you have almost full HP while moving onto the next stage.

23F: A Goddess Descends
Hazards: Warps / Recovery / Poison / Revivers
Boss: Serket
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-23f-goddess-descends

This is where players fall or raise to victory. This is the Floor where most of the players give up. The monsters are not really hard to get. A lot of top picks are farmables like Fire Wyrm and Kii. The hardest part is being able to clear the mobs in time and being able to leave one mob up to stall for strike shots.

SF's Team: Fire Wyrm (Asc) / Kii (Evo) / Oda Nobunaga (Asc)
Friend: Himiko (Evo) / Oda Nobunaga (Asc) / Wukong (Asc)

Basically a full Deity Slayer team since all the mobs are Deities. The key is to when you should use strike shots and when you shouldn't. In terms of stability, it depends on the player. Some will be able to clear it with something similar and some will not.

24F: Fallen Light
Hazards: Gravity Barriers / Poison / Scorpions / Bounce Obstructors / Healing Walls
Boss: Minamoto no Yoritomo
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-24f-fallen-light

The main hazard for this dungeon is the Poison. The poison attack deals a lot of damage, even enough to break Lucy's 10k Barrier. Also the Poison damage ranges from 7-9k per turn. The dungeon will be really easy if 3+ monsters have a Detox ableberry (even A Class ones make a big difference) or if you have two Status Recovery monsters (preferably Sanzang Fashi).

SF's Team: Saigo Takamori (Asc) / Beelzebub (Asc) / Acala (Evo)
Friend: Sanzang Fashi (Asc) / Saigo Takamori (Asc) / NGB monster with Detox

This is a hit and run team. Acala and Saigo can finish a boss bar by themselves with their SS. I also have Beelzebub for the mob clear and the Immune SS in case I get into trouble. I might want a Speed Up monster like Sinbad or Tempest because I do have two Power types but we will see how it goes.

25F: Brewing Darkness
Hazards: Scorpions / Poison / Pierce Obstructors / ATK Down
Boss: Dong Zhuo (Mech Slayer / Discordi Slayer)
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-25f-brewing-darkness

Mobs and the Boss have high defense like Scorpions as well as high HP. Therefore you want monsters with Fixed Damage. This can come from Knock Up SS or Poison attacks. Mobs have exactly 75,000 HP which the poison from Poison Spray deals. Other players use Uri's SS to one shot from the first bar since the boss has a cumulative 1.8 million HP. An Uri SS with 80,000 HP can one shot.

SF's Team: Apollo (Asc) / Basilisk (Evo) / Agnamut X (Trans)
Friend: Uri (Asc) / Aganamut X (Trans)

Relatively stable team. The first few stages might be slow since you have to position for the Poison Spray from Basilisk. Once the Boss comes, you just spam SS from Agnamut X and it will end very quickly.

Floors 26 - 30

26F and above revolves around Impossibles. 26F - 29F have mechanics from exising Impossibles and 30F is a collection of the second round of Impossibles (Ashura to Acala). Also, every single floor have Impossible monsters as a top/viable pick.

26F: Cycle of Flame
Hazards: Damage Walls / Warps / Shields / Drones / Revivers
Boss: Colonel Mica
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-26f-cycle-flame

This Floor is an Izanami Zombie Loop with Damage Walls and Warps. Prioritize on NDW monsters so you won't take damage from them. Warps can be dealt with strong bump combos.

SF's Team; Athena (Evo) / Yamato Takeru (Evo) / Lancelot (Asc)
Friend: Uesugi Kenshin (Asc) / Guan Yu (Asc) / Lucy (Asc)

I could bring another Yamato in place of Lancelot but I was worried of having low HP. Athena can SS to break drones that shoot Warps. Friend can be anything with a Slayer or high DPS, I just pick the ones that are the most common in mine.

27F: Frozen Corridor
Hazards: Gravity Barriers / Warps / Obstructors / Revivers / Ability Locks
Boss: Oruga (Deity Slayer)
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-27f-frozen-corridor

This Floor is a Tsukuyomi dungeon. You want to one shot mobs will dealing damage to the boss at the same time. The twist this time is that there are both Obstructors. You will have to alternate Hit Styles in order to win.

SF's Team: Mustang (Evo) / Bishamonten (Evo) / Liu Bei (Asc)
Friend: Snow Bow (Evo) / Cu Chulainn (Evo) / Pierce NGB monster

This is a solo player's worst nightmare. The dungeon's first Floor has only Pierce Obstructors so you want to start with a Bounce monster or take a lot of damage in Turn 1. Let's hope there is some Pierce monster up for me. This is a dungeon where Bishamonten is the Impossible pick for players who don't have the really op picks.

28F: World PC
Hazards: Gravity Barriers / Mines / Movement
Boss: PC-G3
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-28f-world-pc

This Floor is a combination of Yamato Takeru and Acala's Boss stage. Pinch between mobs or pinch against the wall+enemy to defeat them in one shot. Players will have trouble in this stage since you cannot miss a pinch during the pre-boss stages.

SF's Team: Ashura (Evo) / Aganamut X (Trans) / Ashura (Evo)
Friend: Aganamut X (Trans) / Hakwa (Evo)

This is where Ashura shines. She deals with the hazards and her SS can deal damage to both versions of the boss. This dungeon is all about mechanics so even if you don't have monsters with both MS/Flight and NGB, it is fine. Some bring Ai Mechamori and Saigo Takamori to one shot the boss with their SS.

29F: Waning Moon
Hazards: Damage Walls / Mines / Ability Locks / Revivers / Skulls
Boss: Tsukuyomi (Beast Slayer)
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/tower-champions-29f-waning-moon

Another Acala themed dungeon. This time is Acala's Zombie Loop. If you don't have monsters with both MS/Flight and NDW, focus on NDW monsters since Mines don't show up after the Zombie Loops.

SF's Team: Kushinada (Evo) / SST Cherry Winger (Evo) / Kushinada (Evo)
Friend: Sakura (Asc) / Lucy (Evo)

This team is basically pulling Kushinada's Plasma for damage. Once you get through the Zombie Loops, you have a very low chance of losing.

30F: Bound Abomination
Hazards: Gravity Barriers / Damage Walls / Obstructors / Ability Locks
Boss: Babel
Full Guide: http://strikeshot.net/event/30f-bound-abomination

Final Floor and it is a collection of the second round of Impossibles. Positioning above Ashura, Obstructor clearing in Bishamonten, Cross Laser avoiding in Marici, Preta pinching in Daikokuten, and Acala clones. You want to have at least 1 Pierce monster (preferably 2) and those have to be NGB monsters so you can avoid the Damage Walls.

This Floor is going to be difficult due to the limited monsters NA have. Well, the lack of Arthur's Ascension. That being said, JP didn't have her the first time around and JP players were able to beat it.

SF's Team: Apollo (Asc) / Acala (Evo) / Seimei (Asc)
Friend: Lucy (Asc)

Basically putting all my eggs in the Acala basket. If you position correctly for his SS, pairing with Apollo's SS, it will be an instant kill in the boss stage. The challenge is getting to that point. I just hope Lucy will have enough firepower to clear mobs and such.
