[Top 5 Wednesdays] Overshadowed Monsters

Welcome to this week's Top 5 Wednesday!

This week I'll be breaking down monsters that were/still overshadowed by other monsters. They either had a terrible release date or just wasn't good enough to be in the big leagues.

#5 - Zeus (Trans)

First up is Zeus. Having the same Nulls as Godstriker, the hype for his Transcension disappeared in an instant. However he is not that much higher on this list since he has every right to be Godstriker's best buddy. Godstriker does the damage while Zeus picks up the leftovers.

#4 - Hattori Hanzo (Asc)

Number 4 is Hanzo for being a knockoff Izanami. There are a lot of monsters like that but Hanzo was released at the time of Kushinada's first appearance in hoping to sell his hatcher. However with Izanami, him and his comrades of Saizo and Sasuke were considered major disappointments when players roll them in other hatchers.

#3 - Oryo (Asc)

3rd on the list is Oryo. She gets put in the corner due to the release of Nibelung who have the same abilities, same element but with a better Bump and SS (arguably). Even in Yamato Takeru, where Oryo has the advantage, she gets replaced by stronger Wood monsters like Apollo X and Doji. You see Nibelung way more than Oryo especially in Tower floors.

#2 - Dark Muramasa (Asc)

Besides being a very hard monster to get with all the voucher farming, the end goal is less rewarding since you hardly ever used him. He was released in March 2015. Two month before that, a special Dark NDW monster in the name of Lucy took the spotlight for months. From all the hype of Lucy, players didn't go for Dark Muramasa or have gotten one but never used him.

#1 - Kamui

Being on the top of the list is Kamui. He gets the worst release date in Monster Strike history. He was released in January 1st, 2016, the same release date as Gabriel. From that point on, he wasn't even talked about in terms of Legend's Exclusives since all the other ones are considered better than him. However he is not a bad monster by having two Nulls and viability in multiple Impossibles and Tower floors. Just that he is not strong enough to hassle with the top dogs. If he was a regular hatcher monster or even a Limited monster, his value would have been higher.

How Was It?

Do you have monsters that you think are overshadowed by other monsters? The good thing about Monster Strike is that the game makes dungeons for even these overshadowed monsters!

  1. Kamui wins in looking cool, though. I'm not usually a fan of the dark super ninja aesthetic, but Kamui rocks it.
