[Impossible] Monster Strike's Impossible Slayers!

Hey guys, since Genghis Khan is here in NA, you may have notice that Monster Strike always have a hatcher monster that is good for an upcoming Impossible dungeon. Now the question is, will that monster be useful, or better yet, needed to defeat that Impossible dungeon. Lets take a look!

Disclaimer: I'm basing this off of release dates and what MS advertise the monsters. Whether MS actually consider all these monsters as "Impossible Slayers", I'm not 100% sure.

Izanami - Napoleon (Evo)
Class: Paladin
Hit: Pierce
Type: Balance
Ability: Null Gravity Barrier / Deity Slayer
Max HP: 23930
Max ATK: 23758
Max SPD: 339.03
SS (26): Command SS
Bump: Mega Blast (7499)

JP Release: June 3, 2014
Izanami Release: June 2, 2014

Useful? Very!
Napoleon is still a staple in beating Izanami. Izanami is a deity, fire, and the dungeon is full of gravity barriers. Napoleon basically counters all of the dungeon's gimmicks. She is also a Pierce monster which can be crucial in grabbing hearts or bumping into Margarite or Jorg.

Needed? Yes!
Napoleon is needed for a more stable clear. Although Margarite is seen to be the OP monster of the dungeon, you don't need Margarite if you are skilled enough.

Replaceable? Yes...But.
Napoleon can be replaced by Oruga which is a Pierce Null Gravity Barrier and Deity Slayer monster. However, Oruga has lower stats and a less damaging SS. If you have Napoleon, chances are you won't be replacing her.

Other Dungeons? Top Pick!
Napoleon can do a variety of dungeons. There are not a lot of pierce, NGB monsters with a blast bump (probably Ghost but that's it). Also her SS has a high wall in terms of damage. Lastly, she is a key monster for the dark Impossible, Tsukuyomi.

Kushinada - Hattori Hanzo (Asc)
Class: Demihume
Hit: Pierce
Type: Speed
Ability: Null Gravity Barrier
Gauge: Null Warp
Max HP: 19770
Max ATK: 22123
Max SPD: 407.85
SS (19->23): Speed Up+immune to projectiles (SS CD increased along with immune length increase)
Bump: Homing 18 (3294)
Sub: Spreadshot L3 (1607)

JP Release: July 18, 2014
Kushinada Release: July 25, 2014

Useful? Kind Of
Hanzo has all the abilities to deal with Kushinada. His homing bump combo can clear mobs effectively. Also his SS make him immune to Homing and Spreadshot attacks which makes the giant Shadowgaff stage a lot easier. However, he doesn't have much dps towards bosses which is what most players struggle the most.

Needed? Not Really...But
He is absolutely not needed for a stable clear. But if you have nothing better, he is better than most monsters outside of Dear Lotta, Izanami, and Ryoma.

Replaceable? Of Course
Izanami or even a Dear Lotta can replace him in the dungeon. If you want a max luck slot, Jack can replace him as well.

Other Dungeons? Good but Replaceable
He just gets overshadowed by Izanami due to the same ability sets and same attribute. Izanami also has better mob clear and higher damaging SS. He is best for normal dungeons or cata/turtle farming but there are better Homing monsters.

Yamato Takeru - Genghis Khan (Evo)
Class: Demon Mencer
Hit: Bounce
Type: Speed
Ability: Paladin Slayer / Null Gravity Barrier
Max HP: 20191
Max ATK: 23975
Max SPD: 429.38
SS (18): Speed Up and Power Up
Bump: Vertical Laser L (12312)

JP Release: Sept. 26, 2014
Yamato Takeru Release: Aug. 31, 2014

Useful? Yes!
He is a wood, bounce, and NGB monster. He can pinch mobs and take less damage from unavoidable attacks like Yamato's meteor. He has high speed that works well with Kushinada's Plasma. Not to mention is non-gauge Paladin Slayer which increases his attacks by 1.5x. His Vertical Laser will deal 18k to Yamato which is a non-hatcher One-Way Laser

Needed? Not Really
This dungeon requires more mechanics (pinching and positioning) than the monsters. Genghis doesn't make the dungeon any more easier.

Replaceable? Yes
Any NGB, bounce monster can replace Genghis. If that monster is wood, even better. Like I said, it is all about mechanics in Yamato. If you are well practiced enough in the game, any non-fire NGB+bounce monster can beat him.

Other Dungeons? Nope
Not enough Paladin class monsters in terms of bosses to bring him out. Plus there are better wood+NGB monsters in terms of SS and bump combo (even against the ascend version). There is one other Paladin boss in Louis the 13 but her dungeon is full of warps. He is viable there but that dungeon is easy enough that you won't absolutely need him.

Izanagi - Aladdin (Evo)
Class: Paladin
Hit: Bounce
Type: Balance
Ability: Null Damage Wall
Gauge: Null Warp
Max HP: 24334
Max ATK: 25399
Max SPD: 335.60
SS (22): Speed Up, Power Up, and goes into counter mode
Bump: Rebounding Laser L4 (2486)

JP Release: Oct. 3, 2014
Izanagi Release: Oct. 9, 2014

Useful? Yes!
Null Damage Wall and Null Warp is all of Izanagi's gimmicks. Since he is not dark, he takes less damage (of course he deals less too). His rebounding laser is good overall dps for the dungeon as well.

Needed? Not Really
There are other Null Damage Wall+Null Warp monsters in the game, especially after the initial Izanagi launch. Also, the damage wall in the dungeon doesn't do much damage (like 2k per hit) so people just run better null warp monsters.

Replaceable? Yes!
Eclipse is a better Null Damage Wall+Null Warp monster as well as Siegfried for higher DPS. People also start running Izanami for the better SS. Nurarihyon X and Tsukuyomi are picks that can replace Aladdin too.

Other Dungeons? Yes!
He is not a bad NDW monster. The only main problem is his SS being not really effective. He is also a Paladin and can eat ableberries later. Therefore, you can get a Class berry and buff stats with the numerous Paladin monsters in the game. He can also run Ashura and Bishamonten although he is not really a high priority pick.

Tsukuyomi - Uriel (Asc)
Class: Sprite
Hit: Pierce
Type: Balance
Ability; Null Gravity Barrier
Max HP: 19048
Max ATK: 28718
Max SPD: 366.65
SS (24): Deplete 50% of your current HP to deal big damage and knock up to first contacted enemy
Bump: Speed Up
Sub: Cross Laser S (2706)

JP Release: Nov. 15, 2014
Tsukuyomi Release: Nov. 26, 2014

Useful? Yes!
The bare minimum is NGB and ATK over 23300 (around 19k for light monster). Pierce is more preferred and speed up bump combo makes it so much easier. Therefore Uriel is a very good monster for Tsukuyomi! Pair with Napoleon where you can use the blast to proc your own Speed Up bump combo makes it hard to lose in Tsukuyomi

Needed? Yes...But.
She is technically needed for a stable clear. However, most people try to find alternatives due to her SS taking off your own HP on a dungeon where there are no hearts. Of course, you don't really need Uriel's SS to beat the dungeon.

Replaceable? Yes!
Snow White is usually more preferred over Uriel just because the unpopularity of Uriel's SS. Higher skilled players don't need Speed Up to clear the dungeon and she will be replaced by max luck monsters like Jack.

Other Dungeons? Yes... But
There are a lot of dungeons where Uriel can be used. However, it is for her evolved version due to the NDW and NGB. The evolved version has a Command SS which can deal a lot of damage. Technically evolved Uriel can do Tsukuyomi but you may want to have a Speed Up character in your team to make it a stable team.

Ashura - Guan Yu (Asc)
*Couldn't find the ascend version lol*

Class: Samurai
Hit: Bounce
Type: Balance
Ability: Null Damage Wall
Gauge: Mech Slayer
Max HP: 22935
Max ATK: 24501
Max SPD: 305.92
SS (20): AOE damage to the first contacted enemy
Bump: Mega Blast (7499)
Sub: Homing Piercer 4 (1702)

JP Release: Jan. 4, 2015
Ashura Release: Jan. 1, 2015

Useful? Yes!
Ashura is a mech and the dungeon is full of damage walls. This is perfect for Guan Yu. He also has a high damage SS plus a supportive bump combo for other members of the team.

Needed? Yes!
He makes runs super stable. He can save teams by using his SS and that will blow a bar off of Ashura. Having two or three Guan Yus is an ideal team.

Replaceable? Yes... But
Ashura is one of those dungeons where if you know the dungeon inside and out, she becomes super easy. Therefore monsters like Uesugi Kenshin and Okita Soji can replace Guan Yu. However, Guan Yu makes it easier with his SS taking a bar from Ashura.

Other Dungeons? Ok
Not many mech bosses in the game so his slayer becomes useless. If we are talking about non-mech dungeons, he is not bad. He is both an attacker and supporter. But if you have a Kenshin, Guan Yu can be replaced by her for fire dungeons. In other non-fire dungeons, he is replaceable with the likes of Kushinada.

Bishamonten - Ibaraki Doji (Asc)
Class: Demon
Hit: Bounce
Type: Balance
Ability: Null Damage Wall
Max HP: 21934
Max ATK: 29267
Max SPD: 284.47
SS (16): Bash first contacted enemy+knock up, and heal HP
Bump: Homing Piercer Destruction 8 (3345)
Sub: Blast (6560)

JP Release: Feb. 18, 2015
Bishamonten: Feb. 20, 2015

Useful? Yes!
Null Damage Wall as well as both damage and supportive SS and bump combos. This dungeon has no heart items so the heal from the SS works well. You do heal off from the healing damage walls which she can do as well.

Needed? Yes... But
She is a good all rounder for the dungeon which makes her a top pick for a stable clear team. However, more people will like to have more damage and mob clear SS like Yggdrasil and Kushinada.

Replaceable? Depends
You do need 2 bounce and 2 pierce monsters in the dungeon. If you have a Yggdrasil, there is not much need for Ibaraki. She can be paired with one Kushinada due to the blast sub combo. Doji can also be replaced by Deneb (a bounce monster) which can become a pierce or bounce monster whenever she wants. It depends on what bounce and pierce NDW monsters you have.

Other Dungeons? Yes!
She is a very good monster for a variety of dungeons since she can deal damage and support the team at the same time. She is also very good for farming by her high damage homing bump.
