[JP] Demon's Opera Insight

Demon's Opera has ended in JP and we saw some cool and awesome characters! I'm going to talk about the monsters (well the 5* ones) and give me some insight on them.

Why Not A Video?
I've been getting requests for commentary for new JP hatchers but I have been actively avoiding to do so. Here are my reasons:

Information Timing
Unlike my commentary for NA videos, I don't have all the information about the monsters until the event starts (or a day before it starts). Also, the app I use don't datamine the game so they update the information when they are actually released. This means the ascend versions won't come until all the materials for that monster come (which will be a day or so after the event starts).

Potential
One of the big reason why people wants to roll for a monster is their potential. Of course I can theory craft on previous dungeons and see which dungeon a monster is good for. However, if we are talking about future potential, that is going to be hard to predict. Especially for people who are waiting for a hatcher to throw all their striker bonuses or other orbs in, one monster may be good for the few recent batches but may be bad for future ones.

Practical Use
Well we won't know if one monster is good if we don't see it in action. I also see the popularity of one monster over another and use that as reasoning for my commentaries.

Well there are my reasons why I probably won't do JP hatcher commentaries now and in the future but I will give my first impressions/insight in this post.

Ascend is Recommended
Evolve form is a good monster if you need to gather materials for some of your other monsters since they both basically share the same dungeons that he is good for. He is also be able to do Gargoyle, which is one half of his ascension materials. However, the ascend is recommended because of his strike shot!

OP Meteor!
Romeo has a new and unique strike shot, a meteor that scales off of enemies hit. His scaling is as follows:
4x for the first enemy hit and +14x for every enemy after
This includes shields and drones which makes it very easy to get a large multiplier. The damage will be calculated from Romeo's attack (after pluses). Here is the meteor damage depending on enemies hit (and it will hit all enemies):
1 Enemy:  ~100k (4x)
2 Enemies: ~478k (18x)
3 Enemies: ~847k (32x)
4 Enemies: ~1.2mil (46x)
5 Enemies: ~1.6mil (60x)
6 Enemies: ~2.0mil (74x)

By the way, Izanmi's meteor is around 620k and Zeus' is around 790k.

He has relatively good speed so it will be easier to hit multiple enemies. Although he is not a pierce monster, I think bounce is better for this kind of strike shot.

Not Beginner Friendly
Although he is very strong, he is not the best monster to start off. I did say above that his evolved form can help in one half of his materials, but he is completely useless for the second half. Basilisk is a wood monster and he is relatively hard. Even long time players have trouble with that dungeon. His evolve version is not bad but the ascend version is too hard to past up. If you happen to get/reroll him, you may have to stick to the evolve version for a while until your other monsters gets levels.

Ascend is Recommended
You just can't give up on the better stats as well as the sub bump combo (I will talk about it later). Evolve does have a slayer but it's only use is for Visceron and Fenrir. You can always evolve her and get those two to build your box but you can use the ascend form for those dungeons too.

OP Meteor Part 2!
The ascend version has a meteor of 110595 power. I'm not joking or mistyped, it does have that much power. However, it does only one shot at one random enemy. Either way, it can one shot some mobs.

Beginner Friendly
She is not a bad monster to start with. Her evolved form can do Basilisk which is the only extreme level material for her (the other one is savage level). Also the power difference between evolved and ascend is not too great in the case you can only evolve her. Her evolved form (as well as ascend form) can do some Impossible dungeons (Bishamonten/Ashura) as well as possible future dungeons since JP is in a damage wall meta.

Ascend Beats Evolve By A Bit
A lot of JP sites put ascend over evolve by a lot. For me, it really depends on how much you value the volatile blast. The ascend version can be both a support and attack type of character whereas evolved is a full fledged attack type. Of course the evolved version SS deals more than the ascended version (Harley X SS vs. Deathscoil SS). Also evolved version can have his SS CD go down faster with his gauge.

SS Turn Reduction
This is probably new for readers. This is a really cool ability in which reduces the cooldown for Othello's SS by one turn for every ally he hits. Therefore he can probably use his SS multiple times without stalling. The cooldown is 20 turns so he can get his SS up every 4 rounds.

One Way Ticket for Kushinada
He is actually a very good character Kushinada, especially with Izanamis. He has a null warp which is basically all you need for Kushinada. For his evolved form, if he SS on the first turn on the last bar, he can use it again before her OHKO attack (around 2mil dmg total). For his ascend form, he has a volatile blast which can proc Izanami's laser and he can use his SS 3 or 4 times throughout the boss battles. You can check my Krishna and 3 Izanami video to visualize how Othello can work in place of Krishna.

Hatcher Summary
Romeo and Othello vs Impossibles
All 3 hatcher monsters have some viability with impossible monsters but Romeo and Othello each have one Impossible dungeon that they can carry on. First off is Romeo with Izanami. Of course he has the abilities and attribute for it but his SS can one shot a bar (even the last one). If you have good positioning and mechanics, you can overkill on the second last bar by hitting all the shields and monsters. Next is Othello and Izanagi. His potential to use his SS multiple times (evo or asc) serves very well since he has the previous Impossibles as minibosses. His AOE blast SS can deal a lot of damage on the final stage as well.

Juliet is Meta, Romeo is General
JP is in a damage wall meta, where a lot of recent extremes and impossible dungeons have damage walls. She also have a nice supportive SS and a damaging bump combo to boot. The damage wall meta is probably going to continue until the next Impossible dungeon. Romeo is a good general (I guess OP) pick. Before the DW meta was the GB meta which ended on Tsukuyomi. Therefore Romeo has a lot of viability in past dungeons. However, his future may be cloudy but I think his OP SS will pull him through any turmoil.

That's it for me! If you have any questions please comment! Also if you have any requests of posts I should do, by all means leave in the comments as well! Also, I know my English/grammar maybe bad... lol
